This week has been pretty eventfull for us on the racing scene. Thursday we went to NB for a crit. Then Saturday morning the tour de france started with the prologue and we had our own prologue here too, only it was raining and I was the only person who showed up for it, so I guess I won, I won 20 bucks! Well it was my entry fee for the race so I got it back. I couldnt believe there were so many wimps here that wouldnt ride in the rain! Well I rode for an hour in the rain and then went back home and watched Melia and the Tour on TV. I also did a road race this week out on this street called research park. I think its a future site of a bunch of research buildings but rite now its just feilds, trees and a huge two mile loop of road. I did a 55 mile race there against about 40 other riders. I made it to 50 miles, was feeling great and was right where I wanted to be, then we hit the hill and I was thinking, " this is getting really really fast and tough!" then wouldnt you know it, my tire flatted! I was to tired to be mad, but now I am mad that it had to happen that way. I definetly feel weak out there though, I need to train harder and keep racing to get my racing legs. In Italy it took me a few months to feel good on my bike, and I know it will take time here too. Hopefully though we dont have to take any more breaks from riding and I can just get better. (no leg breaks, snow, hail, lightning, car crashes or anything else that could stop me)

Robyn has really impressed me lately. She started to run when we moved to S.A. then she got sick and couldnt do much for the first few weeks. Four weeks later she has run over 25 miles! Last week she did her high of 13.5 miles in four days. When I was training for Ironman I dont think I ever ran that much in a week more than a few times. She is adding 10% volume to her workout per week. They say that is all you should add if you want to work your endurance up safely. I think she is doing awesome though and I know with her determination she will be back up to where she wants to be soon. Keep training hard Robyn!!!

Good for you Robyn!! Do you do most of your running outside now? By the way, Steve and I are back on the wagon. I'll have to talk to you about the details!!
Nice racing Dan. I'll bet it feels good to get back in the swing of things.
